Cairnlea is a modern housing estate, on the northern edge of the western suburb Deer Park. about 18 km from the city centre. A focal point is an artificial lake, built by damming a creek. This is the base for Paddlucker Peter Webster and friends, and they operate there on most Sundays. This is not a formal club, but the group does attend other lakes around Melbourne to visit clubs and informal groups. On this day, there were three paddleboats present, including a blockade runner 'Phantom'. In enclose two of the six photos which I took with my new digital camera. I didn't have the date setting working, so I have to guess that the date was Sun.29.4.07. It seems that I haven't posted them before.
There are several other references to this group in Paddleducks: use the search box on 'Phantom' and on 'Cairnlea'.
