Hello PDs,
I don't know if this site has been mentioned before, but if you are interested in looking at over 9500 pictures of many of the paddlewheelers that plied the Mississippi, Ohio and Missouri rivers, then this site is for you. You can search for a particular vessel or browse the gallery (I've spent approximately 4 hours on the site already and have only gone through about 3000 pics just browsing). You can select the resolution size of the picture, but I always open them up in the largest size which is about full screen on my monitor. Some vessels are very well documented including interior pictures, some up on blocks so you can get an idea of their underwater form, and then others only have a picture or 2. Although the site does give some general information on each vessel, they don't usually provide dimensional info. You'll have to find that somewhere else. I don't typically care for the showboat type of Mississippi riverboats but I do like the more functional sidewheel packets as well as the snagboats. I've found a couple already that may be a project for future consideration.
