HJEJLEN kit by Billing. I have brought this kit out of reirement after part finishing it many years ago. The hull planking has opened so I have lined it with glass cloth resin and re sanded and primed the outer hull. The super sructure is part built but  I would like to know if the cover over the rear cabin is canvas or solid planked on the full size ship. Hope to finish it this year, may even ge tup north to your show. Regards ,mike

Welcome to Paddleducks Mike, good to have you with us....

If you take a look at the following thread, you'll find some photos of the Hjejlen, it clearly shows that the rear cover is wooden framed, and it may be wood or metal clad? - Though it probably was canvas in earlier years. The Hjejlen has changed  constantly over the years, so I suppose it depends on which period your modelling it at?

Thank you for the welcome, the kit I have shows a bowsprit which is not on the photo. It was the colour of the canopy which made me question the construction. I would also like to know the motor size required for rc instalation as I intend to sail her. mike

Thanks again, there certainly seems to be a lot of info about to finish the boat. My kit also shows a lifeboat on davits on the forward starboard side. This is not evident on your link boat. regards, mike
