Hi,
about 1 year ago, I had seen a short TV video of a NEW ferry from Germany to Poland via a frontier channel. The Ferry was NEW and driven by paddle wheels. Who knows details or links?

I did a report on thie in my European news for Cruiising Monthly magazine in November 2007.
For the first time since 1945, a ferry is operating across the Oder from Güstebieser Loose in Germany, and Gozdowice in Poland. The new side-wheel propelled double ended ferry BEZ GRANIC, which can accommodate 6 cars and 25 passengers, entered service on 20 October. The service will operate from April to October, or possibly the end of November, and opening has been delayed because of delays in constructing the ferry. More details and a photo are on

Thanks a lot!
But what is the reason to construct a paddle ferry today? Without steam engine?
