Hello all,
The postman delivered a set of plans for Princess Elizabeth on Tuesday, they contain as built plans and a layout of the survival equipment in 1952, all of which are very interesting and will be very useful for my build.
I am planning to build her in the plan scale of 1:48 which works out at 4' long and about 12" across the paddle boxes, and to model her in the period 1946 - 1953 (before the navigation lighting regulations changed in 1954 which meant that the main mast was installed). I have asked the NMM, who hold the John Thornycroft records, if they have any information on her post war refit, but they don't seem to have any info. Does anyone have any info on the changes made, including the Bridge, Changes to the forward superstructure, Boiler, and aft saloon? or know where I might be able to find out?
Also does anyone have any pictures of Pricess Elizabeth in the period 1946 - 1953 that they would not mind me having copies either electronically or copies? Obviously I will be more than happy to re-imburse any costs.
Many thanks
Chris
