I registered with this great site yesterday. The two Grandsons have now gone back home and normality has returned to our once peaceful home.
I would like to say hello and say a little bit about myself. I am 55 years old and had to finish work 6 years ago when the vertebrae collapsed in my neck trapping my spinal chord. It left me somewhat limited in what I could do. I have resurrected my interest in model railways and am still working on a new layout but it takes much longer now than it ever used to do.
Over the past couple of months I have been scratch building a model Pilot Boat so that when the fine weather comes again in the Spring I can go and spend a bit of time with my oldest Grandson sailing the boat and not just sitting in the house drawing and things. It is amazing the things you can't do in a wheelchair.
Since the outset of starting this first model I have come to find it very rewarding and interesting just sitting and building this boat. Also I am quite pleased with the outcome so far.
I came across your website last night whilst looking at model boat sites and found the whole subject of paddel steamers very fascinating. When the boat I am now building is complete. Then I plan to have a go at constructing one of my own. This site is the only place I think you would ever need to find out all aspects of what ever part of a paddel boat you need to research. By the looks of things some one is always on hand to help you to solve any problems you come up against.
So that is about it for now and I hope to spend many hours enjoying the treasures that this site holds.
Kindest Regards and Many Thanks, For such a brilliant site and to all of you who put so much into making it what it is.
Paul
