Is CYCLOPS a model of the 1829 sternwheeler from  the Forth and Clyde Canal?

Alistair,
           The Cyclops is based on an Australian sternwheeler called the"Anna Marie" which spent virtually all of its life on the Hunter River in N.S.W. It was launched in 1861. We are preparing an article on this boat for publication, we hope in either Model Boats or Marine Modeller. The reason it is not called Anna Marie is because it was built only from a small sketch found in a magazine/book called "Shiops of Yesteryear" published about 1970 and the article gave a good history but only 2 dimension so all else is guesstimations.

What a fascinating model the CYCLOPS is - by far the most interesting and intrigueing Aussie paddler I have seen. Was the fullsize built in Austrlia or shipped out in bits ? The wheel shroud does not seem to fit in with the hull design, was that guestimation ? I am looking forward to hearing more of this model and ship, so come on you Colonials !!! put the tinnies down, throw some water on the barbie and get some research done !!! PLEASE- I need to know.!!!!!  Regards, Walter.

Further to the above I have found reference to a PS Anna Marie being sunk in a colission at Paterson  NSW in 1909 while carrying girders for a new bridge. It was salvaged and then almost completely burned out by sparks from a passing train!!! No references after that. Is this the same paddler??. Walter,
