Launching Trolley
« on: May 06, 2006, 03:06:14 PM »
Does anyone have any ideas on "launching trolleys as due to recent health changes I can no longer launch my larger models (4ft and above).
I remember one was published in Model Boats or Marine Modeller quite recently but cannot remember the issue. From memory it used pushbike wheels. Any help or sketches would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Hi PD’s – sorry to hear this Peter – is the issue the length or the weight of the model vessels? – I have a dissimilar issue called ‘a ceramic tiled 180 degree turn staircase’ which I must negotiate to take PS Decoy from the workshop garage to my living area up stairs where she spends most of her time - Derek

Derek,
The issue is both ,length and width, I have checked out the 2005 and current year
of Model Boats but to no avail, also have you heard of anyone having trouble with the
Model Boats website as it seems to have changed hosts.

Hi PD's

Peter....there is a very good launching trolly detailed in 'Marine Modelling'..October 1997 issue...it is built from light box section metal and has 2 wheels, either from a push chair or something of similar style (small bike wheels would work fine)...the whole thing can be dismantled and layed flat for easy transportation/storage by the use of 6 wing nuts and bolts.

If you have difficulty getting /finding a copy of this publication then send me a PM and I will send a scanned copy for your personal use....

Eddy...  :respect ...I am unsure of the copyright rules regarding articles of this age...perhaps you could enlighten me/us...if you think it is legal (from the PDs and My point of view)...then I would be more than happy to send you a copy for general publication on PD's. ... :?:  :?:     :D

Keep Happy.

The material is copyright Peter, anything less than 50 years old since it was last printed - Unless you get special permission from the copyright holder of course.

We do have permission from both Model Boats Magazine and Marine Modelling International to re-publish paddler articles, but something such as this would be outside that area.

Sending one copy of the article to Peter won't normally present a problem, the mazagines aren't interested in "one-offs" such as that.

Hi PD's,

Thanks Eddy, I had a feeling that there were time/date rules applied...so If you need a copy Peter, then just send me a PM and I will get it sent.

Must dash....got to get a couple of late boilers etc finished...still playing catch up. :(  :x

Best Regards to all PD's

Sandy
