Hi

I'm a model boating nut from Melbourne Australia and I love all kinds of model boats. I've mainly been building and sailing yachts and tugboat related projects until now, but I'm thinking of planning a paddler for a future build. Being from Australia I would lean towards a Murray River Paddle Steamer as they're a lovely local boat that still work on the river for tourist trade etc. This means a good source of info is still around too. A friend from my club (Surrey Park MBC) did one on photos he took on a holiday and it's great! Besides you can only have so many yachts before it gets silly.
Bye for now.

Nice to have you with us Magpie - Hopefully you should find lots of like minded souls here who will be only too eager to help with a model of a paddler - One things for sure, there's lots of other Australians on the site who all seem to have a hankering for the Murray River paddlers, so your in good company.

Nice lugger BTW!

Hey mate!

I've just completed my work experience up at Echuca and I am working on a model (completely not to scale) of the Alexander Arbuthnot.

If you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them...my paddler library is quite large now and I have a book with all the paddlers on the Murray in it! (Well worth a read!)

Anyway nice to have you on board...oh I hate magpies ever since work experience when I got swooped by one for 800metres, no offence to you though!
