Steam plant for Glasgow paddletug
« on: June 22, 2005, 03:45:35 AM »
Hi,
I am just starting to build the Graupner Glasgow Paddle Tug. I have
not yet ordered the boiler and engine. I am unsure as to fit the
Graupner steam kit or go for the Cheddar models variation on the
Plover Paddle Plant that Cheddars make for the Glasgow.
Has anyone tried either or both of these steam plants? Any advice
will be gratefully received.
Thank you.
Dave

hi.jim moeller here. i have a glasgow steam tug that is very impressive. i
have a wilesco
d48 steam engine in it with a horizontal boiler. it runs well just make sure
you get the heat
out it will build up in the hull. this is very critical. i beleve the plans
show how to do this.

jim
