Mornin everyone- are you all sitting comfortably ? Then here goes.
About ten years ago, I saw a small Ad in I think, Sea breezes
Magazine by a firm producing 600th scale white metal models of clyde
paddle steamers. The producer may have been MILLERS MARINE MODELS.
Anyone heard of them- are they still in existence? Does anyone have
any of these models or a list of the ships produced. Does anyone know
of other firms producing white metal waterline paddlers (not
American civil war wargamers models) Looking forward with interest
to replies. May your floats never flutter. Walter.

Hey Walter!!

Didn't Tri-Ang do a series of small British paddler models ? I've
seen some on Ebay and they get a fairly good price. Why does the
name Tri-And Minic come to mind?

Regards

Triang and Minic made small models of ships and harbours in the fifties, I
think somebody has recently revived them

Thanks for the prompt replies chaps. The three paddlers released by
Triang- minic are best descibed as thumbprints in metal. They depict
three totaly different paddlers using the same casting, only
differentiated by funnel colours! A scottish firm called Clydeside
produced a range of Clyde paddlers some years ago, I belive it was
quite an extenive choice ( anyone got the full list) I have two of
them, Jeanie Deans and Waverley, quite neat at 1200th scale, but I am
looking out for more of the range. A wargames producer made a couple
of nice WW2 armed paddlers ((one of them HMS Aristocrat ex Talisman)
again, which firm?. the larger scale range still eludes me, I will
have to go to the library and look through ten year old back-issues
of Shgips Monthly and Sea Breeezes! Any further information would be
most welcome. Cheers for now, Walter
