Help on navigation lights

Hello, Folks !!

I'm going to complete a model of the french paddlewheel steam
corvette Le Sphinx of 1829, totally scratchbuilt.

Now, giving the last "touches" I had a curiosity...
In 1829, were used on warships the "navigation lights" in French navy?
If yes, anyone can suggest me how many? which colours thay had? and
where they were tipically located on the ship?
