"Prinz Carl" 1 : 25, first iron steamer in Germany
« on: April 09, 2018, 06:32:45 PM »
Some pictures of my 1 : 25 "Prinz Carl", now 20 years old. The original was the first iron hulled steamship in Germany, built 1834 - 1837 for trips between Berlin and Hamburg.
The boat nevertheless was misconstructed, because the hull had an narrowing at the paddlewheels installment. This negative effect is not so important by the model. The plan of the "Prinz Carl" wasreconstructed by Werner Jaeger, german ship historian.
I wrote an article for a german lifesteam journal, yesterday I made the pictures.
