By way of introduction....
« on: June 27, 2015, 07:25:21 PM »
Hi there
First a couple of obvious things about me. I am Scottish and I I love steam  :D.
I have been messing around with models across many disciplines for about 10 years.
This is me looking to come back to model boats.
I have always been fascinated by paddlesteamers and would love to get to grips building one in the near future.
This is my first time in an online forum so forgive if I get things in the wrong place

Welcome Scotty..........your question is a little vague  :darn ...but we can offer a few examples

PS Decoy [you will notice a similarity with my web name] was built in Renfrew Scotland prior to 1878, then shipped to Australia in sections and assembled

The hulk of Decoy is now a house boat in Mannum [South Australia]........137 years later

Not sure if this is a direction for you....but it combines steam, paddlers Scotland & OZ.............. Derek  :beer

Cheers for for the welcome :D.
It's weird how things can end up so far from home.
I love quirky tales like that. I didn't actually mean to phrase it as a question as I am looking to build from a kit if at all possible.
My scratch building needs work before I would be comfortable any hull I build wouldn't leak lol
But then that's not to say I won't take up the challenge. I wouldn't have chosen paddlesteamers if I was looking for the simplest way to get back on the water
