Hi Bill:

How did you make out with this RFI? I didn't see any posts back from
Paddleducks and I've been away for the past week or so.

I managed to track down the following Company. Panorama of Russia
specializes in non-fiction, predominantly reference publications from
the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
These include books, periodicals, manuscripts, and electronic products
from academic and commercial publishers. They can be found at:
http://www.panrus.com/index.htm

When I entered "TAIFUN" in their search engine nothing came up.
However, when I went through their "2001 Periodicals Catalog by Title"
and clicked on "T", low and behold an entry came up for "Taifun" which
is described as "Voenno-tekhnicheskii al'manakh" or what I suspect is
a technical almanac.

There is also a Russian "publication/book" called "TAIFUN" shown as an
entry under Red Star Models, "devoted to naval history No 11/2000
$12.00." This is shown under "Russian Books" at
http://www.redstarmodels.com/newbooks02.html

I'm not sure if this helps, but you might like to email these
companies who deal in Russian publications to see if they can shed
some light on this for you.
