Chaperon
« on: November 30, 2009, 08:39:05 PM »
A new model of the Chaperon sternwheeler is soon to be released. This one is at 1:30 scale and gives a model of 1490mm long, with a beam of 300mm.

The amazing thing is who the manufacturer is!

None other than Engel, who are well known for their submarines!!

Maybe submarine sales have taken a dive?....... I'll get my coat! :)

Regards
Eddy

Just what we need is another Chaperon,  ???  why didn't they pick another riverboat with Model shipways already doing a Chaperon kit. They could have done the Montana, Bertrand, or half a dozen other boats that there is quite alot of information on.

Here's a link showing a video (in German) of the prototype. The Chaperon parts show the model at the start (after the obligatory advert) and again at the end on the water.

Have just been to web-site. They are showing the hull available at 123.8 euros, but not listed as a kit, size L;-1297mm. W:-292mm H:-58mm if this helps anyone
Have now the time to complete Mount Washington which is currently two thirds finished. will be fitting her with simulated steam sound synchronised to forward speed, along with music by the Big Banjo Band to add some authenticity to the vessel + lighting
