National Mississippi River Museum
« on: July 01, 2013, 05:56:23 AM »
Wife and I took our grandchildren to the National Mississippi River Museum at Dubuque Iowa over the weekend.
It is a museum that tells the story of the Mississippi River from the earliest man to today.
The museum is on a site that built and repaired riverboats which mainly were/are paddle boats. On site is the dredge paddler William M Black which is a bed and breakfast place.
There are on premise several steam engines used by paddle boats which two I enclose.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out.
