Automatic Control of Boiler Water Level ,Live Steam
« on: October 24, 2009, 02:23:23 AM »
:-\Having downloaded the articles which I believe originated in Radio Control Boat Modeller from Malcom Beak I have been struggling with this article.
Please see my posting on the subject.
Is it possible to check with him if he has the follow up article Jan/Feb 1989??  Where he identifies the errors in it or whether they were corrected before downloaded on the Paddleducks site.
My concern is specifically whether the errors were in the electronics which I am about to assemble.
I would send an email but his address is hidden to me.

His articles on automatic control of gas firing for steam plant was great and I have made the one without the attenuator.

The corrections were made before downloading - if you look you will see that there are some changes that have obviously made freehand.Do you need me to point them out?

I am advised by Maplin that some of the components are now obsolete.
The transisters were not available and I had the last of the Harrow branches stock of 556 i/c's.
I have selected (guessed)other NPN transisters but even these they hold very small stock levels ie 2 so I had to go to the mid current(more expensive) range for the third.
I'l post my success or failure.

If you have been to the Harrow branch, you can't be too far from me. Are you going to the Sandown Park Show? I will be there on the Sunday splitting my time between the St.Albans MES and I.C Constructor Group stands. Maybe see you there. I still have a few sets of components for the level control system.
