'Greetings' to you all at last, I've had a little trouble finding how to say 'hello'. I have posted a thread on LPG to start my particular ball rolling but with help from 'Mr. Admin' I've reached the proper place.
I have made model steam engines for quite a while although bringing up kids does tend to inhibit activities a bit. My main interest was, and still is, straight running boats and I have been a keen fan of Edgar T Westbury (long since passed on) who made excellent drawings and wrote great articles for Model engineer for many years.
I also follow the exploits of the hydro guys who run their boats a East Park in Hull round a pole and I have been lucky enough to have seen the 120 mph 'Pisces II' boat of Bob Kirtley on a good day. Very impressive and I would love to have the skill to build one.
I am trying to get into LPG fired ,centre flue, radio controlled boats which seem much more civilised especially for those of us who find 'plodging' in muddy ponds a bit worrying at 65 plus. I have spent quite a bit of time on the Model Boats site and recently made several guest visits to 'Paddleducks'. The contributions in both questions and responses give an impression of an active and lively crowd, but more importantly, well informed, so I look forward to some interesting chat.
All the best, Fred Graham
