Hello
I am returning to model boats at 63years old having finally settled down after many years roaming due to my naval service etc. during which time I had to abandon or abort a number of projects due to yet another move! Now, forced into retirement by cancer, I have decided to try again starting with the paddle tug Forceful, which I first started back in 81 I think. I had personal experience of the Forceful when I was in the Royal Navy so holds an interest for me.
I have just joined the local Burton & District MBC so hopefully can restore my rusty skills with their help. I should be an "expert" after all these years but the regular 'breaks' preclude that. In my case the definition of an 'expert' would have to be: "ex" = a has been; "(x)pert" = a drip under pressure.
I will look forward to hearing from you all
Regards
John

Hi John and welcome to Paddleducks.
I'm sorry to hear of your condition and hope you are on top of it. The marvels of medical science these days will keep you modelling. A paddler is just the thing to concentrate on.
How far are you in her build?. Perhaps you can post some pictures here, as we'd all love to see them. If you have any questions as to the finer points then don't ask me.
I, too am a learner, and the Guys and Galls on here have helped me tremendously with my Waverley build, so don't be afraid to ask, they're a great bunch.
All the best

Hi John,
Welcome aboard and sorry to hear about your illness. Great site, good banter, lots of helpful comment so it will keep your mind on fun things. We all seem to be nerds here, nutty about model boats, there may even be some experts if you push it.
All the best, Fred Graham
