A topic that came up on another forum that I thought would be worthwhile persuing, is suppliers that give excellent customer service.

My particular favourite in the UK is Scoonie Hobbies in Scotland, affectionately known as the Scoonie Loonies.... Which you'd understand if you ever met the guys that run it! :-)

Andy and Jim are not only superb at mail order, they attend virtually every model boat show in the north of England so you know you can always chat to them and get the stuff you need, but they will even talk you out of buying something if they consider it unsuitable for the purpose! How many suppliers will do that?

In over ten years of using them I've only ever had one faulty item, and it was immediately replaced without arguement...

A small family business that has the right attitude to it's customers, what more could you ask for?

I can certainly name five or six companies that would benefit greatly by looking at the way Scoonies do things!
~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Hi PD's - this morning a very small cardbox was found in my Australia Post PO box  :gift  :?:  :?:  :?: - with French wording all over it....  :clap - so apart from the baby V71 Anton GAZ regulator I find a sealed plastic bag containing a full spare O-ring/diaphram kit & both 2mm & 3mm diameter brass tube sections -  just need to try & understand how to install it :crash now :D - no where in the documentation did it say that these would be included

So from this I see two suppliers of steam engines & bits that get my 10/10   :trophy award - thanks Sandy & thanks Fabrice......... Derek

Hi all.

I can support Eddy's praise of Scoonie Hobbies.  They are particularly good at supplying small fittings.  The range they carry around to the shows fills a number of large crates each opening up into a display unit and if they don't have it, they'll get it for you.  Great service.
Cheers from Bob Golder
