Graupner Glasgow
« on: October 27, 2005, 07:47:20 PM »
Hi, still searching for a kit paddler of the style and size I want. Came across the Glasgow by Graupner which is supposedly suitable for a small steam engine. Has anybody a) built one? and b) fitted a steam plant? Any comments, suggestions, criticisms? Also any suggestions on suppliers of either the kit or the Graupner paddlewheels. I have found a great variety of prices (from 124Pounds to 265Pounds) for the kit on the web so I presume that the boat kit can be purchased separately from a fittings kit that includes the paddlewheels and costs as much as the boat kit? Thanks, Ian.

Hi

Ebay items 6007890196 (sold - I went to bid and found it had gone minutes before :( ) and 6571072626 (still available, but in USA) are both Graupner Glasgow's fitted with live steam, good pictures still available on the auctions should give you some inspiration!

I havent built the kit myself, but have seen several, I would suggest it is a good platform to work from, with lots of potential for extra detailing/customisation....

Cheers
