Bench testing motor mixers

Hi Tony - I have taken the liberty of posting all this back to Brett & to
PD"s- over the years Brett & I
have have maintained a pretty staunched OZ mentality in our postings & I
think it is good to add a
little humour to our case when things turn difficult & I know other PD's
like it too

Having said this, last evening I was trying to figure out how to connect all
of my new Year 2000 style
Futuba connection female plugs to my Year 1980 Futuba connection female
sockets & especially when
the pin axis are different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So lashed out on a new JR XF631 six channel R/C set, so the testing [dry for
electronics & me] is
now planned for Sunday [after KIRK] - regards Derek

G'Day Derek,

I noted your post re Brett Hallett in today's Digest.

I can understand where he's coming from re electronic nightmares - and
judging by our correspondences over the last few months, perhaps there's
more than a grain of truth in what he says.

However I have a smidgin of faith in Craig Talbot's mixer even now. I
started talking with him about a year ago re the mixer and he mentioned
that a lot of his sales were to modellers for use in paddlers. I also
seem to recall there being a glowing reference from an English PDer
posted to Paddleducks about the time we started talking about mixers.

Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree by trying to get everything
electronic - and if so, then that's a learning curve that I'll have to
bite the bullet on. In the unlikely event everything turns to custard
then not all is lost:
1. we can go back to basics
2. the 'black boxes' can be used in other models
3. the exchange rates favoured us at the time of purchase, and
4. you can point at me for leading you astray.

As you can see, I'm ever the optimist! But seriously, everything should
work fine - the technology seems pretty well proven and Craig Talbot has
a good reputation for helping sort out glitches.

Regardless, I'm very keen to hear how your benchtop/bathtub trials go
this weekend, so drop me a line on tonymattson@xtra.co.nz over the
weekend and let me know how you get on!
