Proportional speed control

Hi Derek,

you've asked for clarification re proportional speed control and my
Puffer.

My apologies for the abysmal lack of clarity - I should have omitted the
word "proportional" - what I was actually trying to say was that I had a
working motor and a working steam sound but that the sound was not
varying with the motor.

Wld be happy to post a few pictures - if I had some decent shots to post
(and if PDers don't object to an alien in the ranks - steel screw
lighters sure are hard to disguise as paddlers). I posted one to the
site this morning. In the folder "Clyde Puffer - Hercules" there's a
shot of the foredeck with companionway to crew's quarters (the doors are
hinged and open up for the air intake for the fan).

A bit of background explanation. One of our club members is a very
highly regarded modeller in New Zealand - Les Bryant. When I first
joined our club I overheard Les 'advising' another modeller: "Rust!
Rust! You can't have enough rust!"...

... and so I took him at his word. The picture shows a little bit of the
grimy, rusty, squalid little working boat that Les has provoked me to
build! By the way she's still not quite complete - a few bits of rigging
and clutter to add yet.

Will post a few more in the next week or so - will also remember to add
some shots of the hull I'm building for "Reliant".
