Pretty quiet lately Is everyone on holidays Well I need
some help @ info So I hope there someone out there I am
building a replica of the SS Sicamous I chose to do the hull
in the plank @ frame method Steel is out of the ?? as was
the original My idea was to put a gellcoat of fiberglass (no
cloth) over everthing after for final finishing () Next- time
to start thinking about power After talking to different people
I still don't know if I'm punched bored or reamed Electric gas
or steam Are they all remote compatable?? What of cost am I looking at?? Next ?? I read or heard that to bend wood
that you soak it in amonia @ water Has any 1 done this??
If so what ratio @what results?? How long did u soak the
wood?? Do U know of a alternative?? TKS for any help BOB

Hi there, Yes I thought everyone had gone away on holiday. How big
is this replica ? as far as using fibreglass is concerned, I assume
you are considering this as a waterproofing function, what I do is
to paint all the internal area's of the boat's "skin" with a good
coating of "Cold cure" epoxy resin, this leaves the outer surfaces
to be finished in the conventional manner, while making the boat
watertight and does not interfere with any work inside.......Dai

Hi to all.
This is an answer to Bob, I have built an RC model of the S.S. NASOOKIN
which is almost identical to the SICAMOOSE. It is 1/4" to the foot or 1:48
scale, the hull is done true to scale by laminated or B & B construction
with as much interior wood removed to leave a good shell. The hull was
sealed with fiber glass reson no fabric. Look in photos under Nasookin RC
and you will see my electric drive, this one is quite complicated but I have
ideas for simpler ways.
Bob, I believe you said you live in Hope B.C. if so, do you ever travel into
the Kootenay area? I can give you many ideas on this model especially if you

drafting up the drawings @ time stealing I have now got the
hull roughed in @ starting to shape her (Damn she looks
awesome) I haven't heard too much come back re powering

input Next ? what did U do re window's @ doors?? Make
