I thought I sent this last week but I never saw it come up in PD so I'll
try again.
While looking for something else entirely I stumbled on the U of Toronto
site and found in their Transportation section a reproduction of an old
woodcut that clearly shows a sidewheeler circa 1600 or thereabouts.

Has Paul's "favorite" gear drive, which was to be hand cranked. Talk
about lowwwww Rpms!
Have also just ordered a roll of microfilm from Historical Collections of
the Great Lakes at Bowling Green State U. that contains Inboard profile,
plans of both port and starbd guards, plan of wheelhouse and wheelhouse
(battery) whatever that is, plan of the pilothouse and elevations of
same of the ferry 'Transfer' that I am currently building.
So. It will be interesting to find out how far off in my estimates and
guesses I am in my project.
Have been doing a little work on her lately but no major accomplishments.
Will post another photo when I get the Starbd side cabin deck on.

Thanks I got in after all, what is it? Looks like Noah's
Ark ! the paddles look like a design by Leonardo Da Vinci, he was a
bit before his time, I wonder what the world would be like today if
his designs had been produced at his period ? Thanks Randy for a
good laugh, I'll let you know what PJ says when he see's it, Good
