Post by: Dai Powell on June 17, 2005, 06:02:27 PM
Hi Guys,
I am still attempting to research the above vessel I have
posted a file (an approximation of the ship taken from an engraving
that was printed in the Illustrated London News of the period) and
would appreciate if any-one of our world wide group have seen any
plans that would fit this vessel she was 140ft long with a beam of
20ft she had a draft of 3ft and as you can see was a stern-wheeler
Thanks guys all the best.............Dai Powell

Hi Dave:

I have taken the liberty of reposting your image and optimizing it.
You had it in .bmp (bitmap) format at just under 939kb (almost 1
Meg!!!) We're about 3 Megs away from saturation on the files section
so it's now sitting at a comfy 30 kb as a .jpg file. It can be found

I'm not sure if you did this before, but it might be useful to post
some details of her builder, service and eventual disposition. My
understanding is this was a twin cupola gun ship the Royal Navy built
in Australia and saw service in New Zealand during the Maori Wars.
