Title: New model towboat
Post by: george britnell on June 17, 2005, 03:52:53 AM
Gentlemen,

I am gathering information for a new project. In the same book that I
got the original idea for the Suter there was a picture of another
sternwheel towboat named the E.M. Baldwin. It was also operated by
the Army Corps of Engineers. I sent to the University of Wisconsin to
see if they had any information on this vessel and I got a reply with
some photocopies of what they had in their achives. There are some
decent pictures but they seem to be very early in the history of this
boat. If anyone (in the States, - not that you gentlemen in the far
off lands don't have tons of information but I don't think most
people in England and Australia follow American towboats that much)
has any information and pictures of this particular boat please let
me know.

Sincerely,
George D. Britnell

George,
I don't have anything on the E.M. Baldwin, but I do have some photos
and info on the C of E sternwheeler FAYETTEVILLE. I submitted the
info to the Sternwheel Preservation Society. Here's the link...
