Gentlemen.
I have been E-mailing everyone I can think of, and this is about the most
encouraging reply that I have got so far. Even that is not exactly very
encouraging!!.
If anyone has just won jackpot on the lottery, and would like to telephone

As far as I can find out there is no website specifically devoted to the
John H. Amos.
Will keep you posted if I hear anymore news.

Well, recently I heard that there was an application for Heritage Lottery
Fund going in, but no more information on that I am sad to say. So I am not
sure if it happened or not. There was news that a small group were putting
some influential effort into saving her, but whether its successful I have
not heard.
Eppleton Hall did not seem in so bad a condition when we saw her in USA -
about 1-2 years ago.
As to Reliant - that is a real scandal which anyone involved in maritime
heritage should be ashamed of.
If I hear more about the Amos, I'll let you know. If you find out anything,
please let me know!

For those interested in the JOHN H AMOS, I helped with the first
abortive attempt to restore her when she was brought to Stockton On
Tees for restoration by the Stockton Borough Council which soon lost
interest until she was put up for disposal. When she left the river
Tees under tow [about 1974 I think} she was renamed HERO for the
voyage to the Thames.
