Title: Great Eastern builder (hopefully!!)
Post by: Steve Jones on June 16, 2005, 06:10:27 PM
Hi All,

I'd like to introduce myself today, the name is Steve Jones, I hail from
Glendora, CA. USA

I have been pursuing GE data now for 5 years. My past connection is to
the Web site:

http://www.greateasternsalvage.com/

I would one day like to build a model of her, in one of her many suits of
clothes.

I look forward to "Christian's" Web site opening.

Thank you.........

Steve

A very warm welcome to Paddleducks, Steve, and glad to hear of yet
another "Great Easterner"..we have a keen group here and Christian is
really the one who is our guiding light in all this. Naturally, as
the largest paddler ever built "The Great Iron Ship" deserves a
prominent place in any paddlewheeler related group and you'll soon get
to meet Woodburner Jim, newly arrived Jamie, and a number of others
who take an interest in IKB's wonderful ships.

My pal Mike Taylor in London,, who heads up the Scale Sail
Association, once built a 14' model of her which STILL sits in his
living room!!! Details of "Mad Mike's folly" and lots of other GE
material posted by our own Dave Miller (also in California) and others
reside in our files server, and I invite you to spend a little time
going through it. Please always feel free to add any of your own and
if you need any help uploading don't hesitate to email me.

If you are saying that the Great Eastern Salvage Website is yours,
then I must heartily congratulate you..it's an excellent resource and
your obvious affection for GE comes through loud and clear! I have
visited the site of many occasions as it's a "Must bookmark"
destination well known to ANYONE who has an interest in the ship.
Your knowledge and dedication to her is a great asset and will be of
significant value to our GE students. Great to have you here..please
keep us fully informed about your Website developments and do NOT in
any way feel bashful or retiring about SELF PROMOTION....I do it all
the time!!!
