Title: Member from Holland owner of a model Zulu
Post by: Mvlogten on June 05, 2017, 05:27:50 AM
Curious of what to find on a newly bought Zulu with a working steam engine.
Interested in pictures or drawings of the 'original' Zulu
I Will show my findings on the subject at www.mvlogten.nl

Hi Mvlogten,

in the attachments some pictures of my "Zambezi" (Zulu Plan). I have built the model in 1992/1993, but some parts were improved later.
Long time I used the oscillating longstroke engine of the Mark Twain Kit. This year I altered this engine to a piston geared engine, what is much more original.

I presume, that the model of the Zulu plans by Ray Vine can be founded in the constructions of colonial river steamers by Denny and Yarrow dockyard in Scotland, but I never saw a picture of an exact original boat.

Greetings

Thomas
