Hello;
I allowed myself to make an interpretation of the boats of the MURRAY River of AUSTRALIA.
After having watched the videos and documents found on the net, I made a free interpretation; That's recovery for materials.
A vague sketch for the follow-up and many modifications during the construction.
Do not worry about the holes in the plating and do it; The plating will be doubled with 1.5 mm plywood and done with 3 mm.
Whatever photos on the beginning of the works with the steam engine coming from the Gulnare.
cordially

i would f/glass the hull, inside and out.
i did mine 12+ yrs ago , no wear or splits
keep it light , especially the paddle wheels and supers., i did mine in hips , scored the wooden plank lines into the HIPS or ply ,to give the wooden join lines effect.use a sharpened hack saw blade or glass cutter
watch the paddle boxes, these need to be light , yet strong, i put a 10/12mm sqare wooden section in front and behind the p wheel , strong enough to deflect any object from hitting the p wheel

Bonjour François :coffee
The hull will be very strong...possibly a few additional supports under the boiler and engine space?
The inverted twin Oscillator engine will look beautiful....yes :kiss1 when on view and running.........what fuel will the boiler use?
Please keep posting images of your build.......but you must tell that little scale shipwright man to keep his fingers away from moving machinery :hehe

Very nice build François :kiss1

:)Hello;
Derek, the hull made only 1.5 mm and the pit keels 15 mm strongly open, there are reinforcements under the boiler and the machine.
The machine is a dual twin effects of 18mm bore and 36mm stroke.
The boiler is 4 boiling tubes, its Ø is 60mm for a length of 160mm, gas heated by a single small mushroom
The little dog "pif" is always on these guards and wise. ;)
Thank you Damien!
Sincerely yours

Lovely job there Francois, Looking forward to following further progress. :bravo

A few hours of work, and I could make the beginning of ... the end?

:)Hello;
The end of winter is approaching and the workshop becomes more frequentable, so after work in the garden to prepare for the coming of spring, I go back to my den and the first questions about dressing my R. MURRAY are on The overlap of the bridge (s).
1 / the deck (the one above the hull) in which wood essence was it commonly made and was it raw, varnished or painted?
2 / The lateral bridges, are they with slats joined or separated; Again, was the wood raw, varnished or painted?
I speak for a general practice, because my R. MURRAY is only an extrapolation of my research on the net. It is a boat of "work" and not of tourism.
cordially ;o)

:) Hello !
It's nice and almost finished spring activities, I'm going back for a ride in my niche and is morning replacement of the base (heavy, very heavy) of the machine by a aluminum; I will have to have shorter screws 3 X 7

406gr of saved a nice output of winter diet lol
The implementation of the machine needed to make media machines (6); They are made in brass, Ø 6 x 5 base and some threaded M3 x 10, all stick to Epoxy in a base in Cpt.
Reservations with my old milling machine
