Title: Graupner paddle wheel set again..
Post by: okrly on January 31, 2016, 05:09:32 AM
Does anyone have a set of graupner paddle wheels to sell me? I can buy the hole Glasgow model boat set if the paddle wheels are good. It is not easy to make light and strong fethering paddle wheels, so I'll try this way.

I know that Float a Boat have a none feathering paddle wheel kit that's the same size as the old Graupner one.

Hi Ole,

making feathering wheels was not so big job to do! Is possible without milling and so. Maybe I could find the plans of my LEVIATHAN by Harold Underhill, there both wheels are planned, non feahering and feathering. Tools needed as I remember were a fine bow saw, a soldering flame and a little bit of brain and muscles. i made mine from brass, the paddles from aluminium.

Hi Andy,
That is very kind of you. The wheels look good on the picture.
It sounds like a good idea to have the possibility to make my own feathering paddle wheels. My email address is: o.lynes@online.no.
Email me and I give you my address, and we can agree on the details.
Ole:)
