I live in Stoney Creek Ont. I am 69 years young and have been modeling for a few years in the process of building an N-Scale model train layout . The past year I have built 3 RC boats the Billing trawler Progress the Dumas USGA COASTGAURD boat the Midwest harbor tug and working on the Model Slipways Yorkshireman and the Thunder Tiger Victoria.
I'm looking to build a side wheel paddleboat and will need help on finding a plan and parts for a build.
In Canada we don't have the model boat shops you do in the UK so moat of my part will need to be shipped .
The one model I have seen is the Dumas Mt.Washington not sure if its a good fit or not so will keep looking for a plan I like.

Welcome Rick.
You are not alone in lack of shops. where I live in country Victoria Australia the only RC model stuff available is ready to run toys we have a great shop Float a boat although their online catalogue is somewhat limited they are happy to answer questions via email.
ebay can get expensive for postage though product price is really good.
If after something specific just ask I'm sure someone will answer to point you in the right direction.

Welcome aboard Rick.
I would stay cleare of the Mt. Washington as a first paddlewheel. It has a lot of weight up top and tends to be hard to balance. I have only seen one done that worked good and the modeller had to make a Rd counterbalance in it. The Confederation model boat club meets in Hamilton at the steam museum you should check them out.
Regards,
Gerald.
