As a younger man, I use to go to the IOW as often as pos. in the summer months. This involved crossing on the PS Ryde or Sandown. I later Served aboard the MV Beaverbank 1959-60.'
Moved to Canada in'61, then Dallas Tx in '67.Worked in aircraft engine rebuild, repair & R/D till 2009. Been interested in model aircraft, Boats & cars since 1944 when a "Yank" who was living with us didn't make it back. One of his friends gave me his "Midget Mustang" he was building.
Anyway, Mum kept me updated with MM magazine over here & I found a RYDE 3 view & decks in July '64, but lost the mag, so I'm trying to build a 1/72 scale (36.6"-930mm) model of it from various pics on the net.
Anyone know or have info on paddle Diameter & center line from flat bottom? Pics show grounded paddle & bottom in the mud????
Will the scale paddle have enough push for this?, Anyone have info helpful for 1ST time PWheeler builder

On my models scale paddles have propelled the model at a scale speed. So there should be no problem.
