Hi All.
I am Ron Turnbull living in south Manchester and just joined Paddleducks.
Have been a builder of RC Model Aircraft for many years but have recently decided to move over to RC Model Boats.
I am currently building the Billings Kit of the dutch tug Banckert and have to say has proved to be a bit testing due in part to the poor building instructions supplied and the lack of photos. Has anyone else found this ?
My next project will be a 1:72 scale of the DEPV Talisman and have already bought the GRP hull.
I did get a detailed scale drawing with the hull which is good BUT i have no plan view !!
The version I am building is the post 1946 when she was restored / modified after active service during the war.
Has anyone got pictures of this version showing the plan view ? better still would be a drawing of the plan view which I may be able to use ?
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.
On another topic, as a wee laddie (1956>1959) I was taken on holiday to my uncles in Paisley and we used to sail up and down Loch Lomond on The Maid of the Loch and have many fond memories of these times. Sadly I could not find anyone who could supply me with a grp hull although I did manage to get detailed drawings but these don't give enough detail to build up a hull.
Hope someone can help me on the DEPV Talisman.
Many thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron,
Have a look at the 2010 paddler day photos in the gallery ( Page 2 ). Some pics of my model which may be of some help.
Afraid I don't have the plans, - I passed them on to a member of Penzance MBC.
Regards,
Pete.

Hi Pete,
Many thanks for your e:mail.
I have had a look at your pictures and copies 2-3 for my file.
Looks a lovely model and I will be happy to achieve this skill level on my model.
Your version looks to be the post 1945-6 version which is what I want to build.
I have ordered a full set of plans and the article from Model Boats so hope this plus my drawing will be enough detail.
When I get started, if I get stuck can I ask you for any help needed ?
Thanks again.
Best regards,
Ron
