Title: Winter hours of nothing to do.
Post by: DamienG on July 14, 2015, 01:42:11 PM
This is how I wile away winter inside the house I started this painting 2yrs ago.

What do the rest of our crew of modellers do to wile away the Winter hours?

Nice painting, DG...I normally build something over the winter, but nowadays the cold weather seems to affect my rheumatoid arthritis worse and worse, so I guess I'm looking at a winter of discontent  :-\

A fellow painter !

Those gulls are cleverly placed into the composition Damien , they draw the eye into the picture.
Nice deep blues provide  contrast  in that water too.

And that that bomber painting really has impact too. Again you have the composition just right , you cropped that plane tight , it gives good focus to the subject.
Great choice of color , very impressive.

I like these very much.

Formal art training , yes ?

When i finally finish my " project " I would like to get back to the paint and brushes.

What`s your preferred medium ? Oil or Acrylic ?

Excellent Damien . :no1b

Thanks mate.  :) :)

A raw amateur using acrylics have done 8 over 30yrs the first whilst flat on back after fracturing T11 & T12  vertebra no training other than lots of books. I just imagine it and then paint it.

Pretty much how I build models.

Damien.
