Hi as a newbe to paddle power I have located gear motors or the gear boxes for the tanks. Can you tell me how to connect to the paddle wheels? I am more used to propshafts

  thanks Les aka g6hfk

Welcome Some use gears on paddle shaft and motor I use pulleys you can see how I achieved it in the threads Sea Road Lady and Lady of the Lake  they're silent compared to gears.
I'm sure others will share their ideas as well.

Damien.

tooth belts are my favorite,HTB metric , rather than MXL, you can also use them to reduce motor revs , by using a reduction ratio of 3:1/4:1,as I aim for 300/350 rpm , at the paddle wheels , new simple paddle tug is using 1000 rpm motors ,540 motors+2, through 3:1 t/belt ,to get proper paddle wheel shaft revs
I have stripped a set of MXL , by turning on the receiver , before the TX , oops !!!
there is no noise w belts
