Title: Flag for riverboat
Post by: Tony Frohnhoefer on June 14, 2005, 03:31:18 AM
Hey Guys: I'm going to display my riverboat in a model show soon. At
this time it doesn't carry a flag. It's an 1860s mississippi
riverboat. I was wondering if any of you guys might have some
historical photos or something that would tell me what kind of flag
such a vessell might fly. I didn't think it would be a US or
Confederate flag since most likely she wouldn't be in the service of
the respecteive navies. I thought it may fly a company flag. Not sure
who operated these boats. Any ideas.

Rick,
Get onto the BECC website they may be able to help you or at least steer, or is that
navigate, you in the right direction. I emailed them about the Murray River flags and they have
one in their range. They are really helpful.

For those of you hunting for BECC Flags' website, here it is.
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~becc/index.htm

There is also an e-commerce site which seems to be foucsed exclusively
on BECC products at
http://www.modelflags.com/

Flags are also available through the Canadian distributor (and fellow
VMSS Club Member) Ron Hillsden at
http://members.home.net/ron-hillsden/

I have a number of these flags and they are very good and the range
seems pretty extensive. Ron Hillsden had some done up for our Club
with our logo.

Hope this all helps you "adorn" your paddlers!!
