Hello There.
Having tried three times to upload 6 photographs of the build of this kit.
and failed I am giving up, I am not computer literate, and cannot get the attachments to upload,
sorry but, unless it is, a, ber, ker. I am lost.

Hello John,
I see you also used the pit crew from tamiya
I hired the same guys for my Wodan ( Dutch paddler early 1900's)
but i also altered them with milliput epoxi
It's not that difficult and the results are verry satisfactory( i hope i spelled that right ?)

I believe I got the idea re crew/tamyia from you in the first place, they have worked fine for me. although they are not proper 1860
confederates. they will pass for americans.
I nearly lost her on her first voyage a gust of wind tilted her over and water entered, altering the centre of gravity,by the time I got out the rescue boat out to her,
the hull was full of water, but she never sank, and later all the electronics were found to be ok.
Solution was to fit a metal keel, which I have just epoxied in tonight.
that should sort out the top heaviness.

Hi Bombus.
I have found that after nearly loosing the cory on her first trip,
that this boat is notoriously unstable,
as has been reported in the u.s.a.
So I have added a metal keel, and because of the poor quality of the drop arms on the paddle itself.
I have added a propeller and done away with the motive power, and turned it into a freewheeling paddle.
I know the purists will want me hung, drawn and quartered, then asked to leave the country !!!
I have also had to strip all of the rear deck of cargo and crew, in order to get a stable, well performing boat
out of the thing, but it is the end result that matters,
I wonder how many kits have been thrown in the bin, because oof problems such as this.

Thanks for your message,
since my last post, I have done a lot of rebuilding, the drive rods on the paddle wheel both lost grip due to the threads giving way.
poor quality casting/metal.
Typical yank I am afraid.
So I ripped the whole thing out and cheated, by putting in a propeller drive, and made the paddle free wheeling.
and am waiting on a suitable day to try it all out.
I have the final finish done but will need to try it all out.
I will get some very kind gentleman to put them on here asap.

At least it was little when I was last there, in 1953.
