Title: Help with Vintage Futaba FP-T6DN

Can anyone help with the Rx battery wiring it has 3 wires red black and blue original  with a Futaba FP-T6DN set circa early '70's with 5 wires on the servos It's a 27 Mhz set converted to 29Mhz
I pulled the old gear from my Schooner to find 4 ruptured NiCad's and nothing left of the wiring I  assume  it's

+2.4=red-----  neg=black----  -2.4=blue.

I'm averse to just trying it in case I damage this vintage 6ch Rx.

I thought I'd taken the batteries out when it last sailed 15 to 20 years ago oooops.

Good news, but don't just say "solved" and leave us in suspense :)

I guess a lot of us tried a whole range of search terms on the web (although from the few hits I got, either nobody else has a problem or not many survived into the internet age), and somebody in future may search for the same thing and come upon this thread as their last hope.

So go on then, what are the wiring connections?

Ok I soaked the old battery tray in a Bi-carb water bath for several days and though not perfectly clean it was good enough to determine  where the 3 wires were attached plus the links, it's certainly different to a standard 4 cell wiring
Here's a pic of the layout.

I had black wire syndrome so all wire and the 7 pin plug were replaced.

I once made a living from electronics repair but acquired brain injury after radiation treatment for a tumor wipe that part of my memory.

I also found NiMh batteries are a little bigger in diameter than standard AA cells and don't fit the battery boxes.

With a Dremel sanding tube and a scapel the NiMh batteries fit now.

We just don't realise how easy we have it with BEC and 24 Mhz do we?
