Title: PS Montreux
Post by: P Webster on June 14, 2005, 03:25:22 AM
Does anyone in the group know of a place where I could obtain plans or at least 3 views of this most beautiful sidewheeler.A friend of mine who already has the PS Adelaide, PS Waverley and the PS Industrial and is starting to build the PS Pevensey wishes to add this to his fleet of Paddlers. It will be built in 1/32 scale.

Hi Peter:

Is this the Sidepaddler Montreux which operates on Lake Geneva,
Switzerland? If so, this is a picture I found of her on Tramscape.

I am in contact with Tom Lee who's brother runs a pretty extensive
site on European (Continental) paddlers and maybe, if this is the boat
you're looking for, he might know of where to access plans.

Greatly looking forward to this, Peter.

Paul,
Yes, that's the one, and don't you agree she's beautiful although not a traditional idea of
a sidewheeler but still a real beauty.

Hi Peter:

I have still not had any replies from the people who Tom Lee
(Paddlwheeler Picture gallery) emailed regarding your RFI on "PS
Montreux" not a reply from his brother, David lee, who runs a
Paddlweheeler site on European Continental Paddlers. However, while
researching something else last night, I came across this French
(Swiss?)Website which deals with CGN (Compagnie Nationale de
Navigation sur le Lac Leman) and has a number of images of this
beautiful clipper-bow sidewheeler.

http://mypage.bluewin.ch/jvernet/index.html

It appears "PS Montreux" has just just undergone a complete 3 year
restoration and the fitting of steam engines to replace the
diesel-electric system she had up till 1998. There are a number of
good exterior and interior photos of her here.

You may very well wish to contact the following person on behalf of
your "paddler" buddy.

jvernet@bluewin.ch

Monsieur Jean Vernet seems to be the person who has put this
information together.
