Post by: the bombus on December 26, 2013, 04:55:48 PM
Hi paddlers
Does anyone happend to have any info on the dutch paddler Wodan?
It was used as a research vessel (early 1900's)
I only found one picture on the web
It looks a bit like the Solent Queen
Come on guys dig in (like Digger Dan would say )

Is this the 19th century two funnelled paddle tug?. from memory it was involved in a famous rescue attempt of a grounded passenger ship on the Dutch coast. If it is, Rotterdam maritime museum had a small exhibition about the rescue which I saw about 5 years ago. it featured a superb full hulled model of the WODEN OR WOTAN. Possibly a good place to start. Regards, walter.
