My name is George. I am my 70’s, and still very active in my aerospace career. I work at NASA. I’m married to Evelyn, living in northern Virginia, USA.
I have had a very long interest in model making, but because of my career, I have had very little time for model making. For a while I was considering getting into RC, but that has passed. Basically, there are too few model boat venues in Northern Virginia, and for what there is, racing boats dominate.
My model interests are side-wheeler paddle boats, and tugboats. At the moment I am looking for quality plans for side paddle boats. I have a long term goal to build a scratch built boat. In the near term, I am starting my model building with a rather simple kit – the Lackawanna from Blue Jacket boats.
I also have a short term interest – I have a brand new Glasgow kit, with the optional paddle wheel and spall parts kits. I plan to advertise this on PaddleDucks, after I get a clearance to do so.
I’m interested in meeting some people in my area who share my interests. While I am mechanically inclined, I am still a beginner when it comes to fine model making.
:police: :police:Regards,
George

Welcome George I have just purchased 3 side paddle plans on ebay from this Canadian seller.

They had others that were to large for my requirements.
