Hello. My name is Dan and I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I have been involved with rc airplanes for many years and I am just getting into boats. I have just started building a Graupner Glasgow kit which I am very excited about. I hope to have it done for next spring. I am planning on putting a smoke system in it, as well as numerous led lights. I am really intrigued with side wheeler ships and I am already looking around for my next project. I'll post some pictures of my build later on when I get further into it.

Hi Dan.
Welcome to Paddleducks, looking forward to the build piccy's of your Glasgow.

Be brave Dan, stick a steam engine in it :D ;) Theres lots of members here who could guide you through doing it. Regardless of what you end up powering it with we look forward to seeing another paddler under way. I see that the next issue of Model Boats will have an article on building the Glasgow as the John H Amos which might be a help to you. Cheers, Ian.

Good luck with your Glasgow.
I started one last year but got into trouble with the internal frames !!, so if your on this part, have a good read of the instructions and dry fit first. I found the supplied wood pieces a bit naff and needed better engineering especially if your going for a heavy steam engine afterwards. I put it away in the loft for now but might have another go after reading how you get on. 8) ;D
Cheers for now

Hi Dan Sirman.
Welcome to the forum.
Model aeroplanes is where I stated back in 1948, on and of ever since. Model boats came about when CB radio took the 27meg. :a102 :16 :41
Not knowing what to use my old R/c gear for! Then a little lateral thinking try Model boats! :08
