Title: Modeen Super Minitwin Overhaul
Post by: ihughes on June 14, 2013, 10:27:29 PM
Hi everyone

Does anyone have experience of overhauling a Modeen Super Minitwin steam engine? I'm assuming mine needs new 'O' rings on the pistons as it isn't performing very well of late despite good steam pressure.

I can't see if/how the top or (more likely) the bottom of the cylinders are removable in order to remove the piston from the cylinder.

Anyone got any experience with these great, but old twin cylinder engines?

Ian

For the benefit of anyone else who has one of these engines, I have now discovered that the bottom of the cylinder barrel is simply a push fit, and the pistons do not have any 'o' rings, so unfortunately there are no servicable components!
