Title: Glasgow Riverside Museum
Post by: marinemole on March 21, 2013, 10:04:20 AM
Visited Glasgow Riverside yesterday and still none to impressed with the display of ship models in particular. At least the upstairs carousel was working, but it isn't ideal for photography as the lighting conditions are terrible. I guess I'm like a lot of people and will never forgive them for the demise of the Clyde Room.

Took some usable, but not particularly memorable, pictures.

Hi Andy,
You did better than you think. I have drawings of St Tudno and now I have a much better idea of she looks like. Thanks for the pic and also the others. I was checking to see what their website was like yesterday to find NOTHING. There is    a German word to describe what you said which at the moment I can't remember but it is turning something into crap while trying to make it better.

Dave

I will try to get back to the museum some time soon to see if I can get some more shots of the St. Tudno. Unfortunately it's literally shooting a moving target and then only when it passes through a weak shaft of light.

Hi Andy,
As we say here in California, "ya done good".
It may not be the Clyde Room but it has models. The closest thing to me is the San Francisco Maritime Mus--8 hrs away--with half dozen models and some full-sized ships in the harbor. Nice, not thrilling,  but nice.  I've been snooping around looking for a pic of the Livadia, a model I saw on my last visit to Scotland --unfortunately, can't remember which museum had it--possibly in Edinburgh.
Thanks in advance for any other shots of St Tudno. I'll keep an eye out if I can repay the favor next time you are looking for something..

Hi All.
Some of my photo's of St Tudno when I was last in Glasgow. I have a few more some are not so clear due to very bad glass reflections.

Prentice

You did really well to get shots as superb as these given the lighting conditions.
