Title: Wentworth weir & lock (Australia)
Post by: Roderick Smith on January 30, 2013, 01:25:29 PM
This weir and lock (and navpass) have featured as the backdrop to lots of photos posted in various threads: usually from the NSW bank, or from the water.
Here is an unusual angle: taken from the Victorian shore, when I was on a PV Coonawarra cruise, having a bush-campout night away from civilisation.
I have also camped on this shore with private boats during a fleet event.
The crane must be used to remove/insert the panels which form the weir wall, controlling water flow and river height.
Another job is to remove floating logs which are carried onto the wall.
