Title: San Diego (USA) submarines
Post by: Roderick Smith on January 09, 2013, 02:16:00 PM
San Diego is an operations and maintenance base.
It also has two great museums.
One is the preserved USS aircraft carrier Midway, which contains a huge variety of aircraft flown from it through the years.
The other is a maritime museum with a large and varied collection, including two submarines: USS Dolphin, and a Russian one.
You may have to google for the website to learn more.
In one of the Russian photos, you can see a mockup bulkhead, so that visitors can decide in advance if they are able to get through.
That sub was interesting: a lot of the interior was polished wood.
