On Sat.8.12, I was part of a Rail Tourist Association group which had a day out: train to Wendouree, bus around Lake Wendouree, then a 2 h cruise on the lake in PV Begonia Princess, pausing half way to collect packet lunches. Leaking transmission oil resulted in a loss of power, and the boat blew gracefully to the shore, close to the next stage of the day: a ride on the tourist tram, with afternoon tea at the depot. We finished the day at the boat museum in Gill's boatshed, and inspected progress on the replica PV Golden City (my camera had failed by then), then returned by train from Wendouree.
